The Art of Fresh Pasta at LucAle HK

At LucAle, located in the vibrant neighborhood of Sai Ying Pun, Hong Kong, pasta isn’t just food—it’s a craft, a tradition, and a passion. Every strand, every shape, and every bite carries the soul of Italy, handmade daily by our chefs to ensure the freshest, most authentic experience possible.

👨‍🍳 Handmade with Love

Chefs Alessandro Angelini and Luca De Berardinis believe that pasta should be more than a dish—it should be a celebration of heritage. That’s why at LucAle, pasta is prepared fresh each day, using time-honored techniques passed down through generations.

From kneading the dough to shaping tagliatelle, ravioli, and pappardelle, every step is done by hand. The result? Pasta that is tender, flavorful, and perfectly balanced to pair with our rich sauces and premium Italian ingredients.

🌾 The Ingredients Matter

Great pasta begins with simple, high-quality ingredients. At LucAle, we use:

  • Italian flour for the perfect texture and bite

  • Farm-fresh eggs to give pasta its golden hue and richness

  • Seasonal fillings like truffle, ricotta, and spinach for our ravioli and tortellini

By combining these with authentic imports—like Parmigiano Reggiano and extra virgin olive oil—we ensure every dish tastes like it came straight from Italy.

🍷 Perfect Pairings

Fresh pasta deserves the right partner. Our sommeliers curate a selection of Italian wines to complement each dish. Imagine silky tagliatelle with truffle paired with a glass of Barolo, or delicate ravioli matched with a crisp Pinot Grigio.

🌟 Why Fresh Pasta Makes the Difference

Unlike dried pasta, fresh pasta has a softer texture and absorbs sauces beautifully. It transforms a simple dish into something extraordinary. At LucAle, this dedication to freshness is what sets us apart as one of the best Italian restaurants in Hong Kong.

Lakshmi Harilela
I was cooking since I was 12 years old, alongside my late Father, Mohan Harilela. My family ran restaurants, so I was always sneaking into the kitchens and eating everything I could get my hands on. Since a very young age, I have always had a passion for food, as I was constantly surrounded by it. So I decided to go to Hotel Management School Les Roches in Switzerland for some formal education.
